Mechanic/Technician #3
The company produces a variety of injection molded; assembled and decorated plastic parts, as well as cosmetic pencils serving consumer retail markets.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities of Silkscreen/Hot Stamp Technician (SHST) include, but are not limited to, set up silkscreen, hot stamp and banding machines, lining and jar assembly machines maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance of deco department machines and auxiliary equipment. Test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies.

The SHST will be required to own an extensive amount of personal mechanic tools. The SHST will be responsible for diagnosis of print quality, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical problems accurately. An industrial mechanic background is required. This position requires understanding Silkscreen and hot stamping process. Anyone in this position must work closely with operators and Q.A. representatives. The SHST will occasionally lift items up to approximately 50 pounds. This position requires excellent communication and math skills. The SHST must be able to work well in a team atmosphere. Anyone in this position may be required to perform additional tasks as required by the supervisor.

Sets up and conducts tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.

Analyzes indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications

Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method. Ability to complete daily reports.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to fill out reports.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense and troubleshooting experience.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to use a scientific calculator and knowledge of measurements including calculating dimensions.

Physical Demands: The physical demands vary from lifting, bending, standing, climbing ladders, etc., handling hazardous materials safely, and labor intense type jobs.

Safety and Security: Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe condition; uses equipment and materials properly.
