We are now interested in reviewing Applications for a Packaging Design Engineer to work in R&D at our state of the art facility in Galway, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for the design and co-ordination of packaging activities for New Products. This will include product package design, product labels, DFU’s (Direction for use), packaging specifications and also the following:
Creation, change and control of all labeling and packaging components to support R&D in the plant.
Ensure all labeling and packaging components meet performance and Healthcare standards including conformance to ISO9001 / EN46001, MDD, cGMP and all Country specific requirements.
Liaise with vendors on specifications for package and label components.
Communicate to Teams and Management on the progress of
Labeling and packaging projects.
Liaise with Sister divisions to ensue a consistent approach to labeling and packaging.
Communicate with various departments within BSC on packaging related projects.
Build Quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
Qualifications
Diploma in Engineering, Industrial Design, Science, Quality Assurance or packaging technology
Minimum of 2 years experience in a Health Care environment preferred.
Experience in package design, particularly thermoform trays barrier bags, corrugated and cartons
Experience of FDA, MDD, ISO 9001 / EN 46001 and packaging / labeling standards preferred.
Familiar with ISO 11607 standards and experience with ASTM 4169/ISTA
testing preferred Familiar with sterile packaging materials preferred
Strong team member with the ability to identify and drive quality improvements.
